Project Info Partners starts with consulting. Executive consultants come on-site for 2-3 days in the trenches with your team to assess your information management processes, personnel and responsibilities, and systems. After the initial consulting session Project Info Partners delivers formal recommendations to augment process, technology, and/or staffing to achieve the goals. At that point, clients can choose to have Project Info Partners lead the implementation of the recommendation, consult on the implementation, or you can take our work and go it alone.

Most projects can benefit from a Micro Consulting program. If executives engage with me as a project performance consultant for 1-2 hours per week, they generally find that:

  • labor hours are reduced

In the Micro Consulting program, I work with project executives to examine project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables to find inconsistencies, unrealistic plans/projections, and things that are undesirable to clients.

In each meeting we work together to identify and flag the most high-impact undesirables and make a plan to fix them. Typically, the plan is delegated to the owner of the process or deliverable who reports back at the next Micro-Consulting session.

Intensive Consulting

Me and several staff members are available for intensive on-site consulting.

Recently, we deployed to rural China to consult on a chemical plant. We worked with several groups (clients, engineering, construction, and completions/commissioning) to improve the management of completions data. It was hard. Deadlines were approaching, agreement was sparse, and penalties were looming. Luckily we were able to work with some of the smartest, most dedicated project staff on the face of the planet to help instill discipline, process, and proper data management practices.

The cumulative ~3months we spent in rural china were well worth it. The key components of the project came online with little drama and handover to the client went incredibly well. The team did an excellent job - and I'm proud to have been a part of it.
